Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the HP AeBAS app (Himachal Pradesh Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System) for mobile devices. The Application was created by the Department of Digital Technologies and Governance (hereby referred to as “Service Provider”) as a Free service for government employees of Himachal Pradesh. This service is intended for use “AS IS”.

The Application enables employees to mark their attendance using Aadhaar-based Face Authentication. It ensures secure and accurate attendance management by leveraging biometric and location-based validation.

Information Collection and Use

The Application collects certain information when you download and use it. This may include:

• Your device's Internet Protocol address (IP address)
• Pages of the Application you visit, with timestamps
• Operating system of your device
• Device location – required to ensure attendance is marked at the designated office premises
• Biometric (Face) data – captured via UIDAI’s FaceRD service only for Aadhaar authentication. The app itself does not store biometric images.

Location and authentication data are collected solely for verifying employee attendance and ensuring compliance with government attendance policies.

Employee Data Usage

As the Application is designed for government employees, the following data may be used:

• Employee ID and Department details
• Attendance logs (date, time, location of marking)
• Aadhaar-based authentication response (PID XML, encrypted and transmitted securely as per UIDAI guidelines)

All data collected is used strictly for attendance verification, monitoring of employee presence, and generation of official attendance reports. Data is handled under the security and compliance framework mandated by the Government of India and UIDAI.

Misuse by Non Targeted Users

All mobile apps are meant for use by the targeted audience only. Misuse by non-targeted users should be prevented by owner of the mobile.

Security

We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information we process and maintain. Please be aware that, although we endeavour to provide reasonable security for information we process and maintain, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. We will notify you of any changes to our Privacy Policy by posting the new Privacy Policy here. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
